Jail Dashboards Case Study
AICG empowered the Polk County Jail to create visibility to the public about its jail population and other arrests, bookings, and charges information to drive awareness and accountability.
AICG helped Polk County Iowa to ingest on a consistent basis data from its Jail Management System (JMS) into an analytical dashboard output that solved three major challenges: (1) to create a consistent historical accurate data model to represent transaction jail management data, (2) to develop KPIs that reflect the current perspective of the CJCC to highlight key aspects of jail management, and (3) to develop publicly facing dashboards that can be embedded and incorporated on an existing Polk County website(s). With these challenges in mind, AICG’s team was able to provide a plan of action that included gathering requirements, developing a project plan to execute against, and then develop the solution based on project milestones to deliver an outcome that met original requirements and then some.
The solution is a portable and embeddable solution that provides Polk County with a scalable platform to continue expanding as new requirements arise. Using the DLH.io datalakehouse enterprise data integration platform, the secure ingestion of data and development of analytics metrics allowed the solution to be developed and delivered faster than normal means as the acceleration of gathering disparate data was handled by the DLH.io platform, allowing the AICG team to focus primarily on data modeling and dashboard reports and charts development.
